2nd favorite moment in book 2.

Well I finally had to shelf this one for good. I got it to a decent state, I learned a lot, worked with a new technique, and only regret not spending my time more wisely in some areas. Oh and not getting to color. But alas. I can't keep at this one forever. It's time to move on. So this one is done for me. I won't be touching it up anymore. Sorry guys.

First of all, this is absolutely incredible. You capture Vin so well. I love it!

Also, I'm very curious about how you would go about adding color to a piece like this. Do you have a tutorial of any kind?

Thanks! I'm not actually sure that I will go to color on this one, just because I've spent so much time away from it at this point that it may be better for me to just move on to new pieces. I don't really have any tutorial, for this one, this was actually my first digital painting that I started in black and white. Which is a technique some people use to get strong value changes and not get caught up or lost in colors. Unfortunately it also being my first attempt at working this way I'm afraid it also suffered from taking me too long and eventually not getting fully completed. My blog has a few of the earlier incarnations of this piece in some previous posts, so you can kind of see the progress but that's about all I have on this one. [link]

But I'll never say never, and I'm sure I'll make more Mistborn stuff at some point. Maybe if I get more familiar with the coloring process for this technique I'll just quickly knock out some colors for fun!
